JUNE BERRY - WIGHTMAN was born in Ashby-De-La-Zouch in Leicestershire. In those days she couldn't afford paints, but used her pencils and drew and drew everyday. As she grew up she tried oils to start with, then pastels, then water colours then acrylics and finally inks, which she uses often today for her vivid poppies. June has sold very many paintings many of which have gone abroad. She moved to Scotland about 54 years ago and has sold many more pictures here than anywhere. This is her first appearance in Pitlochry Festival Theatre and she just loves the atmosphere and hopes to come again.

"When staying in Pitlochry during the early part of the war, I chanced to see a stately house with a fairly large garden, quite close to the town. I at once realised that here my dream theatre might well be established in this fashionable resort right in the heart of Scotland"… John Stewart, Founder of Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
