A New Year for 'The Cemetery Club'

posted Fri 13th Jan:

cemetery-club_back'Just do it Theatre' was formed in 2010 by Wendy Huggins to raise money for Charity whilst indulging a passion for Theatre.

Having performed 'The Cemetery Club' in Birnam, raising £1000 for Corbenic Camphill at a special Charity evening, we then took the show to The Dibble Tree Theatre in Carnoustie, which was a joy. This tiny theatre is the home of Carnoustie Theatre Club who gave us generous support and fantastic audiences. However to bring the show to the stage of Pitlochry Festival Theatre will definitely be a challenge and an exciting beginning to 2012 for all involved!

Directed by Trixi Macaulay 'The Cemetery Club' by Ivan Menchell is a poignant comedy drama in which three Jewish widows meet once a month to visit their husband's graves...Lucille and Ida are ready to start a new life. However, when romance is in the air for Ida, Doris and Lucille know what's best for her...or think they do.

So treat yourself to an evening out to brighten the dark January nights, we hope to make you laugh and perhaps cry a little too. All profits will go to charity. Performances on Friday January 20th 7.30pm and Saturday January 21st at 2.00pm Tickets £12 - £14 available from Pitlochry Festival Theatre Box office 01796 484626 or online: and for more info about 'Just Do It Theatre' visit www.justdoittheatre.com

History

From 1951 to the 21st Century...

Discover our history "When staying in Pitlochry during the early part of the war, I chanced to see a stately house with a fairly large garden, quite close to the town. I at once realised that here my dream theatre might well be established in this fashionable resort right in the heart of Scotland"… John Stewart, Founder of Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
