Deirdre and Dougal to do Winter Words Double Act

deidre-davis_news

River city actress Deirdre Davis, together with Pitlochry Festival Theatre regular

(and most recently remembered for his musical role in last Summer's smash hit, Whisky Galore - A Musical!) Dougal Lee will take to the Pitlochry stage to bring to life the words of author, playwright and arguably Scotland's finest living writer Alasdair Gray as part of the Winter Words Festival on Friday 5th February, 4.30pm.

Alasdair Gray's many of his works are already regarded as classics, and represent the backbone of modern Scottish writing. Whether it is prose (his masterpiece, Lanark, has been described as a landmark of 20th century fiction), an opera libretto, a play or even a script for a puppet show, his words have substance, humour and fierce intelligence.

Take your chance to meet the author, who will be signing books after what will be a unique and fantastically different event as part of a literary Festival that has gone from strength to strength. For tickets and further information call box office on 01796 484626 or buy here online.

History

From 1951 to the 21st Century...

Discover our history "When staying in Pitlochry during the early part of the war, I chanced to see a stately house with a fairly large garden, quite close to the town. I at once realised that here my dream theatre might well be established in this fashionable resort right in the heart of Scotland"… John Stewart, Founder of Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
