Don Nicolson plays PFT on Tuesday 17th August, 8pm

 

A local singer-songwriter destined for great things, Don was a huge hit on the BBC's Upstaged series and more recently at Perthshire Amber, the Dougie Maclean Festival. His songs sail straight from his heart to yours! Make sure you catch this talented lad from Perth when he performs at Pitlochry Festival Theatre on Tuesday 17th August, 8pm. Expect original material from his recently released debut album, The Sandpiper Chronicles, which is a touching and enjoyable mix of both ballads and feel good, upbeat songs. Don's influences include Coldplay, Paulo Nutini, Marc Cohn, and Jeff Buckley, Dougie MacLean. Spoken from the heart and driven by the mind, Don Nicolson is a songwriter not afraid to express what he believes in within an ever-changing world. His determination to succeed, and enthusiasm and drive shows through in his work and the passion which rips through each track cannot but help to stir something in the soul and the imagination.

 

Don has been gigging around the circuits for the past 6 years and has under his belt two slots on the main stage with Dougie MacLean and in 2006 won Songwriter of the Year at the Perthshire Amber Festival. Don also reached the final of Idol. 2008

 

His repertoire of heartfelt acoustic songs earned him a place in the public's hearts when he won enough votes to place him in the final two of BBC3's "Upstaged" talent show in 2008.
