Pitlochry Festival Theatre is delighted to announce that two of their employees, along with employees from several other local tourism businesses, have received the new Highland Perthshire Standard Customer Care Award. The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) endorsed course is delivered by Highland Perthshire Ltd, the area's destination management organisation, with the support of Scottish Enterprise and Perth and Kinross Council, in partnership with Xtra-Mile.com, and is designed to support employees working in customer facing roles in the tourism industry.
Presenting each of the successful candidates with a certificate and lapel badge, Richard Pinn, Regional Director for VisitScotland, said: “Great customer service is key to ensuring our visitors have a great experience in Highland Perthshire. It encourages them to return and also spread the word about what a fabulous part of the world this is to visit.”
Pauline Duncan, who co-ordinated the Highland Perthshire Standard, said: “My own experience in the tourism industry has helped me in the development of this course. We wanted the Highland Perthshire Standard to be something that was both practical and relevant to local businesses and their employees, and I think we've succeeded in that. We're looking forward to future workshops and also developing a range of other programmes.”
Mark Da Vanzo, Deputy Chief Executive of Pitlochry Festival Theatre, added: “Excellent customer service is of key importance to the on-going success of the theatre so programmes like the Highland Perthshire Standard are a welcome addition to the resources we have at our disposal.”

"When staying in Pitlochry during the early part of the war, I chanced to see a stately house with a fairly large garden, quite close to the town. I at once realised that here my dream theatre might well be established in this fashionable resort right in the heart of Scotland"… John Stewart, Founder of Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
