A traditional, fun-filled family panto!

Cheery, colourful and energetic - Perthshire Advertiser

Pitlochry's Sleeping Beauty is a strong, good-natured family show, with the special advantage of being created from scratch, to very high production standards, in the theatre's own design and costume workshops - The Scotsman

sleepingbeauty_in-articleFollowing the huge success of our spectacular first panto, Cinderella, we’ve dreamed up another magical Christmas treat for all the family . . .

Spinning wheels, wicked fairies, beautiful princesses, strange enchantments, overgrown castles, heroic princes - what else could it be but that most magical of fairytales, Sleeping Beauty. Join us this festive season to see if Nurse Nancy, Fester the Jester - and a very stylish Prince - can awaken Princess Beauty from her spellbound slumber . . . and save the kingdom into the bargain!

With glittering costumes, sparkling sets, and a host of colourful characters, there will be song, dance and laughter aplenty to delight the young - and the young at heart! And don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes . . .

WHAT THEY SAID ABOUT LAST YEAR'S PANTO, CINDERELLA:

“It was simply the best panto we have seen in many years with all the traditional ingredients yet modern in its
own way”  Sheila & Doug Buttenshaw

Panto with a touch of class... Some theatres are made for producing pantomime and PFT is now, undoubtedly, one of them. Joyce McMillan, The Scotsman

“We were a party of 6 and 3 generations, and I don’t know which generation enjoyed the evening more!”
Robin & Margaret Barbour

There can surely be nowhere else in Scotland's panto-land where the costumes are more opulent and sparkling!

Alison Anderson, The Perthshire Advertiser

History

From 1951 to the 21st Century...

Discover our history "When staying in Pitlochry during the early part of the war, I chanced to see a stately house with a fairly large garden, quite close to the town. I at once realised that here my dream theatre might well be established in this fashionable resort right in the heart of Scotland"… John Stewart, Founder of Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
