Head of Production

Join a bold and ambitious producing theatre at a pivotal moment in its evolution

At Pitlochry Festival Theatre, we believe in the power of theatre to change lives. As we look ahead to 2026 and welcome Alan Cumming as our new Artistic Director, we’re seeking an inspiring and experienced Head of Production to lead the delivery of our ambitious artistic programme—across our stages, gardens, and beyond.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a leading Scottish theatre, working in an environment that values collaboration, innovation, sustainability, and artistic excellence.

As Head of Production, you’ll lead the production department in delivering outstanding, technically brilliant, and creatively realised theatre. You’ll manage a busy year-round programme across multiple spaces—including our 550-seat Auditorium, new Studio, and outdoor Amphitheatre—as well as support touring, co-productions, and transfers.

Working closely with creatives, technical teams, and senior colleagues, you’ll ensure productions are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.

Why Join Pitlochry Festival Theatre?

Set in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the UK, Pitlochry Festival Theatre is a place of creativity, ambition and community. We’re entering a bold new chapter and investing in innovation, inclusion and artistic excellence. You’ll be joining a passionate, dedicated team—and you’ll help shape work that resonates with people of all ages and backgrounds.
