Carrion Crow

Heather Parry in conversation with Greg Powrie

This event has passed

Join HeatherParry for an illuminating conversation about her haunting new novel, CarrionCrow. Parry’s debut novel, Orpheus Builds a Girl, was shortlisted for the Saltire Fiction Book of the Year award and longlisted for the Polari First Book Prize.

Discover how Parry weaves a gothic tapestry of class, gender and hidden truths in late Victorian London, and delve into the visceral world of her protagonist Marguerite — locked away, haunted, and forever changed. Through her rich, evocative prose and dark humour, she offers a fearless exploration of the body, society, and survival.

A professional actor for over 40 years, Greg has appeared at most theatres in Scotland, including ten seasons at Pitlochry Festival Theatre, with seasons at the Lyceum, Citizens Theatre, Perth Rep as well as stints in the West End. His various television credits include Outlander, Succession, Still Game, Taggart, and more recently was a cast regular on Scotland’s soap, River City. He has also been heard many times on BBC Radio 4, including A Book at Bedtime.
