Drawing on the food traditions of Glasgow and Malaysia, Lin explores the flavours, memories and cultural connections behind her cooking, and the role food plays in bringing people together.
Julie Lin is a Malaysian Scottish chef, author, restaurateur, and broadcaster whose cooking celebrates the vibrant meeting point of her two cultures. Raised in Glasgow, with childhood summers spent in Malaysia, her love of food is rooted in family, heritage, and the joy of bringing people together. Julie is a familiar face on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, Morning Live and Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch. She is the founder of acclaimed restaurants Julie’s Kopitiam, GaGa and Tacos Lah. Her best-selling debut cookbook, Sama Sama, celebrates the bold, comforting flavours of her mixed Malaysian kitchen.
