The Shapeshifter’s Daughter
The Sunday Times bestselling novelist, journalist and broadcaster will be discussing her new novel The Shapeshifter’s Daughter, a spellbinding retelling of the Norse myth of Hel, the Goddess of the Underworld, set in the magical landscape of Orkney.
Sally Magnusson has written several books for adults and children, most recently her Sunday Times bestseller Where Memories Go (2014) about her mother’s dementia, The Sealwoman’s Gift (2018), her acclaimed debut novel, The Ninth Child (2020) and Music in the Dark (2023).
Guiding the conversation is Magnus Linklater, who has held a number of senior editorships on newspapers in London and Scotland, and the author of several books on current affairs and Scottish history. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
